Who we are
David Johnson has been practicing law in Wright County since he graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law and moved to Clarion in 1990. He and his wife Colette have been married since 1998 and have three children: Philip, Ana, and Sam. They currently live at Lake Cornelia. David’s practice has evolved from criminal and civil litigation to real estate, wills/trusts and estates, and drainage law. David is easing into retirement and stays busy between selective legal engagements, being active with St. John’s Catholic Church in Clarion in several capacities, and by serving as the President of the Clarion Foundation for Community Improvement.
Philip Johnson grew up in Clarion, graduated from Clarion-Goldfield in 2014 and attended Iowa State University where he studied Accounting and received a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree on the subject. He passed the CPA exams before beginning law school in 2018 and he obtained CPA licensure in the State of Iowa in 2022. Philip graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law in the Spring of 2021 and passed the Iowa Bar Exam in the Summer of 2021. Philip practices primarily in business and contract law, estate planning and probate, real estate transactions, and income tax preparation. Philip and his wife Brooke (Allen) moved back to her hometown of Eagle Grove in December of 2020. When not in the office, Philip is active with the Humane Society of Wright County, he is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove, and he serves on the board and audit committee of a local bank’s holding company as well as on the boards of Eagle Grove Community Development Corporation, Lazy J Rescue Ranch, and Eagle Grove Dollars for Scholars.
